Being up here in the North, I have noticed there are no squirrels. At least I haven’t seen any. This is wonderful for two reasons 1. My dog doesn’t chase them towards moving cars 2. They don’t eat the bird food I put out.

The Old Mill, Wakefield, Gatineau, Quebec

I have a love/hate relationship with Wakefield, QC. If you go there completely off-season e.g. middle of the week mid-November when it is raining, there is no-one around it is quite a quaint little village. If you go when the fall colours are out, or middle of the summer, then good luck! In fact, good luck getting across the bridge into Hull/Gatineau from Ottawa!

Common Loon

Last summer I had the good fortune to be able to spend some time on Lac St. Pierre near Wakefield, Quebec. The lake is stunning and is quite large with lots of bays to explore.
